Long-form reviews, retro deep-dives and speedrun breakdowns — written by players who beat the boss before writing the guide.
How we cover a game
Every title gets a full playthrough — minimum 20 hours — before a single word is drafted.
We log frame-time, load screens and control feel on three hardware tiers for a fair verdict.
Two editors cross-check lore, patch notes and pricing so guides stay accurate at launch.
Live articles are revisited after major patches, so a review from launch never goes stale.

★★★★★Their Elden Ring boss routes shaved four hours off my first run. Clear, honest, no padding.
Marcus T. — Newtown, Sydney
★★★★★The retro deep-dive on the Sega Saturn was better researched than most books I've read. Worth the membership.
Priya K. — Melbourne
★★★★☆Finally a review site that scores by rubric instead of vibes. I trust their 7/10s more than other sites' 9s.
Dylan R. — Brisbane
★★★★★Dropped into their Darlinghurst arcade night after reading the blog for years. The crew is exactly as passionate in person.
Sophie L. — Darlinghurst
Good to know
All reviews, news and launch-day guides are free forever. Only our retro deep-dive archive sits behind a AU$6/month membership, which also removes ads and unlocks the community Discord.
Expect three to five articles each week — typically two reviews, a guide and a feature. Big launches get same-day coverage, and our guides are updated within 48 hours of any major patch.
Never. Scores are decided by our editors alone. We accept review copies from publishers, but any early access is clearly disclosed at the top of the article, and it never influences the final verdict.
Yes to both. Send pitches through the contact form below and we reply within two business days. Our Darlinghurst studio hosts an open arcade night every second Thursday, 6pm–10pm — just drop us a line first.
